At BraveHeart, we've always focused on active learning. Shifting the required theory online gives us even more time in class for hands-on repetitions, realistic drills, and personalized coaching.

Your questions

Basic First Aid (Emergency) FAQ

Common questions about certification levels and requirements in Nova Scotia.

My employer asked for Basic First Aid. Is this the right course?
Yes. In Nova Scotia workplace first-aid language, Basic First Aid corresponds to the Basic First Aid (Emergency) level. BraveHeart’s Basic First Aid (Emergency) course includes CPR-C + AED. If your workplace has higher-risk safety requirements or asks for Intermediate First Aid, choose Intermediate First Aid (Standard) instead.
Does this course include CPR-C and AED training?
Yes. Every BraveHeart First Aid course automatically includes the comprehensive CPR-C level (covering adults, children, and infants) and hands-on AED training at no extra charge. We do not charge extra for higher CPR levels.
What is the difference between Online + in-person and All in-person?
Both formats result in the exact same Canadian Red Cross certificate. The All in-person format is delivered entirely in our classroom over one day. The Online + in-person format shifts half of the course theory to a self-paced online portal (completed at home), leaving only the hands-on practice session in our classroom.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can reschedule or cancel for a full refund up to 48 hours before your course starts using the direct self-serve link in your confirmation email. Within 48 hours, please email us directly at team@braveheartfirstaid.com for assistance.
